Part of a transcribed voice message from my Notes journal

Oct 4, 2026 at 11:57 PM-I was in the middle of recording when this thing stopped. But I was just saying how isolating and frustrating and discombobulating it is to not have any goals when you have any severe MECFS. No short term or long term goals. Or medium goals. Because you have no control in your life, and trying to set one. At least for me, just leads to more disappointment. And this is really frustrating. And… doesn’t feel very human as… I’m used to setting goals. Constantly. And as humans, we do, you know, we always have our New Year’s resolutions, which I hate, but they’re always talked about and brought up. Just something we like to do, or we tend to do, or when we need to do a reset, and recheck in, and reground ourselves, and I’m so used to setting… spiritual goals, um, health related goals. social goals, service goals, financial goals, travel goals, educational goals. And I can’t do it. any of those. And… it’s really hard. It’s really hard when I watch any type of financial video online, and I’m like, I want to become more financially literate. I want to grow my own wealth. I want to have that protection for me and my family. And. I can’t, I can’t… invest anything. I can’t change my spending. I can’t. It’s just, like, awful. I’m just so used to setting goals, and I can’t set goals. So I just take whatever comes and try to be. feel blessed by it. Or I, as joyfully as I can, do whatever task or hobby or thing, my body allows me that day, and sure I could make those tiny things into a goal, but it, it just doesn’t even compare to what I’m actually missing, into what you can actually do. I just don’t know how… Often people are in this situation. I would… guess maybe those with terminal illnesses… feel this way, ’cause they don’t can’t set long term goals. But they can still… achieve more… smaller goals. Than severe amusia of this.
